I don’t know if I’ve ever pointed it out on this blog, but my brother is about the greatest guy in the universe. My husband gives him a run for his money, but that’s neither here nor there. Anyhow, evidence toward this fact is the following text message, which I received during a long day at work…

This evening my friend Jade (who if you don’t know, you should: http://markitalternatives.com) and I exhibited at the Philly Entrepreneur’s Expo in University City (see http://phillystartupleaders.org/) and had the good fortune to get a booth next to my other friend Lana from Feed Our Children Now (http://www.feedourchildrennow.org/feed%20our%20children%20NOW.html).  I can’t decide if it was refreshing or not to be one of the few bricks-and-mortar businesses that was exhibiting, but the turnout was really great, and I’m thankful to those who put it on for teh chance to network, and for the free beer.  Also in attendance were some people I admire from Independents Hall (http://independentshall.com/).

Anyhoo, Lana took some pictures of Jade and I that I thought I’d slather all over the internet.  Tonight all the merchandise we brought out was eco-forward.  Everything was either organic, recycled, or carbon-free.  Except of course the plastic table that was provided.

One of our best friends and clients, Mary Bragg, is making her Philadelphia debut this weekend at World Cafe Live (Sunday nite, 3/29).  Usually you have to go all the way to New York to enjoy her tunes, so come out on Sunday.  Hope to see you there.  For more details: http://tickets.worldcafelive.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=2948

Today in the shop we created some effects that we though were pretty awesome.  So I took pictures and put them here.  So far we’ve perfected stripe patterns and swirls, but really the sky’s the limit.

Dotted Line is headed to Mardi Gras for it’s fourth straight year, and the free t-shirts just keep getting better. Come pick up your NOLA-bama shirts on the parade route at any of the daytime parades this weekend! It’s the only way to get one, it helps raise money for Cripple Creek Theatre Company (seeaplay.org) and it’ll be a heck of a lot of fun. We’re generally found near the corner of Jackson and St Charles, hope to see you there!

Last weekend, I had the great honor of performing in Yes! And…’s “A Winter Sort of Thing.”  I also had the honor of designing the logo for the show’s antagonist, Chip Staples, in whose fictional over-efficient nature factory my character worked.  Designing a logo that’s supposed to symbolize flaws rather than advantages was a new one for me, but it was fun slathering it on a few dozen t-shirts as well as the backdrop of the stage, which I hope comes out in the photos.For those of you who know him, this picture of Rolando says it all.

Recently I did an order of tote bags for a preschool and had the loveliest time seeing the names of people I loved in the self-portraits of the preschoolers.  Is your name on here?

Turns out they only give you 500 characters to use, so at least I won’t be boring you, dear reader…

Today’s comment goes a little something like this:

An economic stimulus plan that the left and right can agree on: Because consumers and businesses are the backbone of the economy, they deserve propping up, but let’s prop up those who are a greater backbone. How about propping up consumers who will spend their stimulus (those who make <$50K annually) and businesses who will do the same (those whose revenue is less than $100K/employee)? Such a plan promises to be less expensive, more popular, more effective, and (dare I say) more democratic?

Inspired by the Obama Presidency, and my supposed ability to have an increased participation in government, I’m going to be leaving a weekly comment on the newly designed whitehouse.gov, and because they don’t display the comments, I’ll be replicating it here as well. We’ll see how this goes…my first comment follows…

Clean Green Machine

Lately, after a long day of work in a hardscrabble recession, I unwind by rehearsing song-and-dance with children. That’s right.
